Longtime Imam and Qari of the Cape Town community, Mawlana Ahmed Tahier is best known for his unmatched Qiraat of Quran and melodious renditions of Arabic & Urdu nasheeds/naats. Shaykh Ahmed holds a BA in Islamic Studies at Zia-ul-Uloom, completed the Alim Course at Dar-ul-Uloom Tanweer-ul-Islam in Pakistan, and has a Diploma in Da’wah & Comparative Religion from Ma’din Kerela, India. Mawlana Ahmed is the Principal of Al-Falah Institute of Islamic and Arabic Studies, Imam of the Musalla Madina (Vangate) and serves as a Faculty Counselor at the Madina Institute.
