Mufti Sayed Haroon al-Azhari

 

Mufti Sayed Haroon al-Azhari is a young yet vibrant scholar who was born in Lenasia, south of Johannesburg in South Africa. He began his quest for Islamic Sacred Knowledge at a very tender age at the Pretoria Islamic Educational Centre in the 90’s. After graduating in Shari’ah Studies in 2004 he furthered his education in Egypt mainly at the world renowned University Al Azhar. While his stay in Egypt he completed his Classical Arabic Studies through the Ministry of Education under the tutelage of distinguished Azhari Doctors. He simultaneously studied at Al Azhar, deepening his knowledge in moderate Islamic thought, and obtained his degree in “Integrated Ideology”.

Mufti was graduated in 2012 by the Minister of Higher Education in Egypt on completion of his B.A. in Islamic Law at the Al Azhar University. Thereafter he continued Al Iftaa studies and graduated in Pakistan as a Mufti in 2014. Mufti Haroon is the Dean of the Shariah and Islamic Studies Faculty at the CTIEC – Cape Town Islamic Educational Centre based in Eagle Park and a visiting lecturer at many Islamic Centres in South Africa. His lectures are occasionally broadcast by Various Media stations on satellite TV networks and are available on DVD/CD.

Mufti Sayed Haroon Al Azhari’s works are based on The Holy Quran and Authentic Hadith which is very instrumental in correcting the thoughts of many, helping them return to the true ‘Aqidah of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah.

He currently teaches Hanafi Fiqh, Hadith and ‘Aqidah.
